World War 2

This term year 5 are learning all about World War 2. So far we have learnt the reasons that caused the war and why children had to evacuate. We have had a lot of fun learning about WW2 and will be ending the topic visiting the Duxford War Museum at the end of the term.

We have been working hard on writing time-slip stories in literacy, linked to our topic on WW2. In addition, in science we have been exploring 'separating mixtures' and the children had a go at making 'alien' snack bags by separating some mixtures and making new ones.  We created a big mess but had lots of fun doing so! In art, we have been analysing Fauvist-style paintings and having a go at recreating the style in our own work. It has been a very busy term so far!
