First Aid Policy

 

Introduction
 
All accidents that children have MUST be recorded, either in the green First Aid folder in the staff room or if serious, in the yellow accident book in the office. By doing this there will be a visible record for other employees and parents to see if necessary.
 
When an accident occurs
 
1.     An accident must ONLY be treated by a qualified first aider. A list of these is available from the office and on the noticeboard in the staffroom.
2.     Every accident must be recorded in the green first aid folder in the staffroom or if serious, in the yellow accident book in the office. All accidents during PE lessons must be recorded in the green accident book and be reported to Headteacher.
3.     Accidents are to be treated as per guidelines in the front of the green first aid folder.
4.     If further advice is required, please see either the Headteacher or any other qualified first aider.
5.     If you are in any doubt at all about a child’s injury, please inform their parents/carers. Contact details are in the pink folder in the staffroom or from the office. They can then make an informed decision.
